The family behind Dog Treat Naturals walking their two dogs through a Midwest field at golden hour The family behind Dog Treat Naturals walking through a Midwest field with their dog at golden hour

It started with a dog who couldn't eat any of them.

Ruby, and the family she started.

We're a family that makes dog treats.

That's genuinely the whole story. No garage, no eureka moment — just a dog who couldn't eat what we bought her, and a family that got serious about what goes in the bowl.

Proudly baked in the Midwest

Every bag is baked in the American Midwest, in a facility that's GMP and SQF Certified — a food-safety standard most pet treat brands never bother to meet.

We're a small family company. We don't own a factory, and we're not going to pretend we do. What we do own is the decision about who bakes our treats and what goes in them, and we take that one seriously.

What we can tell you about our ingredients

Here's where most brands get vague. We'd rather be specific.

  • Pumpkin, apples, oats, flaxseed, berries — grown in the United States.
  • Coconut and bananas — not grown commercially in the continental US. Ours come from the best suppliers we can find, and we're not going to pretend otherwise.
  • Our postbiotics — clinically backed PRIOME® technology, heat-treated strains, sourced through our manufacturing partner.

If a dog treat company tells you every single ingredient comes from a farm down the road, check the back of the bag.

Why postbiotics, and why a treat

Probiotics are live bacteria. They're fragile — heat kills them, shelf time kills them, stomach acid gets most of the rest. Which is a problem if you want to bake them into something your dog actually wants to eat.

Postbiotics are what's left when the work is already done. Heat-treated, stable, ready from the first chew.

That's why this is a treat instead of a pill you have to hide in peanut butter.

Treats That Mean More

Every bag is NASC Approved, made without artificial colors or flavors, and made in the USA by people whose dogs eat exactly what yours does.

Not because it's a good line. Because we'd feel weird about it otherwise.

The National Animal Supplement Council is an industry body that audits members on quality control, labeling accuracy and adverse-event reporting. It isn't a sticker you buy — it's a standard you keep passing. Every Dog Treat Naturals product carries it.
No, and we'd rather say so plainly. Our treats are corn, wheat and soy free, and some recipes use whole grains like oats or barley flour because they're gentle on digestion. If your dog needs a fully grain-free diet, check the ingredient panel on the specific product before you buy.
